Our client, a multi-business and large complex conglomerate in Abu Dhabi is currently looking for an Associate Director of Data platforms/Data Engineering.

The role:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive data strategy aligned with business objectives, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices
- Establish data governance policies, standards, and frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and security throughout its lifecycle
- Define the architecture and roadmap for data platforms, including data warehouses, data lakes, and business intelligence (BI) systems
- Evaluate, select, and implement data management technologies and tools
- Lead a team of data engineers in building and maintaining data pipelines, ETL processes, and integration solutions
- Drive automation and optimization of data workflows for timely, accurate delivery to users and analytical systems
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for managing enterprise information assets, including documents, records, and knowledge repositories

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or related field; an advanced degree (Master’s/MBA) is preferred
- 14+ years of experience in data management, analytics, or information governance roles, with leadership experience in complex organizations (6+ years of managerial experience) preferably in large multinationals, consumer-driven businesses
- Strong understanding of data management principles, methodologies, and technologies, including data warehousing, big data, cloud platforms, and governance frameworks
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and promote data-driven decision-making organization-wide
- Experience with large-scale, enterprise-wide data initiatives and building high-performance data platforms
